The Beautiful Exchange

The nostalgic morning breeze

Over the last drop of tear

The pleasant aroma of peace

As it slips onto the dewy morning grass

Reflected eyes with blinding imperfections

Can’t alter the perfectness of the moment

I see it now

His concealed gift for me

I’m giving it up now

It was never meant for me

My distorted morning shadow figure

Smaller than it was a time back

When eyes saw nothing yet knew it all

Heart clouded in a panic attack

Took the chance and gave the world my all

Yet that was all it gave me back

I knew it then

There was nothing there for me

I gave it up then

I had to find my own

The last drop of indelible ink

Slowly painting the maverick free

Breaking the matrix with words that sting

Scribbling on for inner piece

Carthatic writings pinned on walls

Bringing calm to a world that falls

I felt it then

The strangeness of death to self

I gave in then

To the beauty of birth to self

The nostalgic morning breeze

Blowing away the last drop of fear

Still holding on to truths that led to this

But His grace draws me near

It is goodbye without doom and gloom

I had to find myself to lose myself

I see it now

His concealed gift for me

I’m giving me up now

For He gave Himself for me

Galatians 2:20

“I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”
